Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. We have plenty of dirt roads to hike, ride ATVs or horses. Two small ponds stocked with Catfish and Blue Gill. Permission to hunt game and fish granted during your stay. Beautiful sunsets and wildlife spotting are common. 2 night minimum

Good to know

Gram's Place is built above an aircraft hangar but the terrain makes it a "ground level" experience. You'll park 25 feet from the front door. In front of the cottage is a grass runway (seldom used). The neighboring farm raises black angus cattle. The driveway into Gram's Place is about 1 mile long. Since it is a gravel drive, low-clearance cars are not suitable. AWD or 4WD during snowy times helps. Together with an alternate four-wheel drive entrance it creates a loop that is almost exactly one mile. If you like walking it is an enjoyable walk that includes views of the surrounding area, one of the ponds and elevation changes of about 200 feet. Our little mountain has an unencumbered view to the west and north making for spectacular sunsets. On clear nights the Milky Way stands out bold in the sky along with whatever constellations are in season.

Tallmansville is a mountain village south east of Buckhannon WV. It is a loose knit collection of communities like Queens, Tenmile and Kedron. In years past it was home to major logging and coal operations. Today, while many in both industries make their home in Tallmansville, it is also home to a much broader, diverse work force. Some are recent arrivals who fell in love with the down home people and natural beauty, others have made it their home for generations.

It is about 30 minutes to the nearest grocery store. Both Kroger and Walmart as well as other options are available in Buckhannon.
