Our cottage is located in a rural area. We border a fork of the Buckhannon River for approximately 2000 feet. This section is both a native (Brook Trout) and stocked Rainbow Trout stream. Biking, Hiking, Horseback-riding, ATVs & UTVs are all welcome. We are on a two lane highway but have direct access to hundreds of miles of gravel roads and trails. Ski areas like Snowshoe & Canaan Valley are 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes away. Many other streams like the Tygart Valley River, Elk River, Gauley River, Greenbrier River, etc. are close by. Holly River State Park is 25 minutes away. Kumbrabow State Forest is about 20 minutes. The West Virginia Wildlife Center is 30 minutes away. There are several more parks, forests and other natural attractions within 1 to 2 hours.
Guest Access
You will be able to use the entire cabin and the property. Please be respectful of spaces occupied by other guests in camp sites and cabins. You're welcome to fish (with a license) in the river. If you go through a closed gate, please close it behind you! Owner's horses occasionally are present and can be admired from afar, but don't interact with them unless given express permission by the owner.
